With the Final Vote entering the final 24 hours late Wednesday afternoon, Ashley Scheppers, wife of Texas Rangers reliever Tanner Scheppers, took to Twitter to give her husband's campaign on the American League one last boost, and in the process made what I'm sure she intended to be an innocent reference to the bizarre incident involving Anna Benson and former major league pitcher Kris Benson .
Don't make me go all Ana Benson on you guys... Vote. Now.

For those who may not be aware of the story, Anna Benson allegedly attempted to raid her soon-to-be-ex husband's apartment on Sunday night with a gun while wearing a bulletproof vest and demanding money. On Monday, Benson was arrested and booked on trespassing, assault and gun-possession charges, and on Wednesday, The New York Post reported these new details of the incident , including how Kris Benson escaped the situation and Anna Benson's explanation for wearing the bulletproof vest.
Former Mets pitcher Kris Benson calmly fled from his gun-wielding, bullet-proof-vest-wearing wife after she asked him for a cigarette light, according to 911 recordings made public today.
Crazed “Baseball Wife” Anna Benson allegedly confronted the right-hander Sunday night at his Georgia house and then asked for a smoke, allowing him a base path out of this jam.
“She told me to go get a lighter for her to smoke a cigarette,” Kris Benson told a 911 dispatcher. “When I left the room, I just did a beeline for the basement.”
