Even if the Mets take the next three from the Phuck Phaces as the series starts tonight at $iti Field, it looks like Jerry Manuel could still be out as manager of the Mets. There are some serious cracks in the foundation.

First there was the confrontation between Frankie Rodriguez and Randy Neimann the bullpen Sunday night. At first glance, I chalked this to shit happens in the heat of battle but upon closer inspection it seems Rodriguez is getting annoyed by the way Maunel is using him and made it known when the call came in to get up and get warm. It’s not really known what was said but I could guess that Rodriguez made it known that he’s getting tired of the way he’s being used, getting up, sitting down, being told you won’t be used then having to get ready and come in and get a 5 out save as it seems he’s not just saving games but saving the managers job.

The second incident has to do with a couple of “prominent Mets” upset that Darryl Strawberry has been in the clubhouse trying to help players relax and focus on winning. I mean we can speculate on who’s “wittle feelings” were hurt that big bad Straw. It’s not like Straw said anything critical of inflammatory:

  “He was saying you’re better than last place. He told them it was ‘rough’ watching them play, but you’re better than what you showed,” a Mets insider said. “Some of the guys who don’t know Darryl that well, don’t know he still bleeds Mets blue might have thought it (his advice) was too tough.”

 

“If they don’t know Darryl they might have wondered why he was coming on so strong,” the spy said. “He is sincere. He still cares. That’s why.”

 

 

WOW if they think that was too tough they’d cry like a baby reading what I write. I don’t think it’s Wright or Reyes doing the complaining as they’ve been around and know what Strawberry and all the 86’ers mean to the organization and the fan base but it would be leader-like for Wright and Reyes to step up and defend Darryl and his fellow World Champs and tell those who are complaining to shut the fuck up. If I ever find out who the players are who are crying about Strawberry in the clubhouse, I promise to expose these frauds for the fucking losers that they are.

It’s these little outbursts that show whether the manager is losing his team or not and add this in with the Maine blowout and the total misuse of his bullpen and the fact that David Wright was benched and Jeff Francoeur gets his name in the lineup every day and produces nothing but failure tells you it’s time to let Jerry Manuel go.

We pause our Mets coverage here at The Eddie Kranepool Society to focus on my new female crush. Ms. Cheryl  Bernard of Canada.  Not only is Ms. Bernardt a gorgeous female from the  Great White North  she is also a kick-ass Curler, unlike that choking American dog John Shuster, who found his sorry Curling ass on the pine yesterday as the U.S Men’s Curling team defeated France 4-3. But I digress back to the lovely Cheryl.

Ms. Bernard is the Skip of the Canadian team as in Skipper as in Main Babe in Charge and she takes her job very very seriously. Last night she was brilliant in leading her Canadian team to victory over the hotties from Denmark.  This match was so good and entertaining that I stayed with it while my Celtics were running roughshod over the Blazers.

I can’t  get enough Curling or of Cheryl Bernard (wink, wink)

So today is the Ol’ Perfesser’ Day.

 

 

My ambition meter is on empty today so I’m just warning you.

Weather wise it is one miserable day in NYC, rain and cold and just the kind of day to stay home and do nothing, which is what I plan to do. The forecast calls for the rain to stop or just go to drizzle and from the sound of things Game 1 of the Satan Series should go off on time. Whoop-Dee-Fucking-Do.

Don’t if you seen this video of the Phuck Phace fan and the on-air, reporter but all I can say is stay classy scrapple eaters.

Remember back in the summer when Brian Brunney was talking shit about Frankie Rodriguez and Rodriguez sort him out “meet you in the school yard” style?  Funny, but Brunney’ season went to shit after that didn’t it?

On Saturday night, The Chicago White Sox had a 5-0 lead over the Detroit Tigers in a game that had a bearing on the AL Central race. The Tigers came back strong to score 12 unanswered runs to win the game 12-5. After the game, the White Sox players retreated to thier clubhouse and to drown their sorrows in college football. The sight of this “who gives a shit attitude” among his players led Guillen to go off:

‘‘The people we have in baseball now let players do whatever they want. My job is to teach the kids that’s not the way it’s supposed to be,’’ Guillen said. ‘‘I never tell my players what to do or how to prepare yourself, but when you lose a game and all of a sudden you look around and they’re watching another thing, that means you are teaching the kids. ‘Don’t worry about it — this is the big leagues. If we lose a game, who cares? We’re out of the pennant race.’

‘‘I’m old-school in the new era of baseball. I have to teach these kids this is not the way we should handle this stuff. If I let that thing go away, then I don’t have the power and the right to tell kids in the future what to do because it was like, ‘Well, two years ago, you let them do it.’ Anyone who is going to play for this organization will learn how to be a professional and how to handle things the right way.’’

‘‘Respect the game and the people who pay to see you,’’ Guillen said. ‘‘You know how many people walked out of here and were embarrassed by how we play? We appreciate their support — I’m a fan too, a Chicago fan, and that’s why I feel this way.’’

Today is one of the great days in sports, the opening day of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament (I won’t use those stupid nicknames they use for this event as I fu-ck-ing hate them)

Sports talk radio host Sid Rosenberg is out at 790 The Ticket in Miami and it hasn’t taken the rumor mill long to point Sidney back up north to NYC. You can take Sid out of NY but you can’t take the NY out of Sid.
